Dr Nalla G Palaniswami is a Doctor, Educationalist and Philanthropist. He is the founder and chairman of Kovai Medical Center and Hospital. One of the finest hospitals in South India. Dr NGP is the recipient of many medical, educational and community awards for his services. His mission is to serve the people of India in Health Care and Education on par with developed countries in the world.
He did MBBS and MD in Stanley Medical College, Madras. He served as Lecturer and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Coimbatore Medical College in the year 1973 – 1975. He went to the USA in 1975 for his higher studies. He completed higher training in Internal Medicine at Cincinnati, Ohio and Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, from 1975 – 1978.
Did fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan in, 1983 – 1985. Between 1978 and 1983 worked as an internist at St.Joseph Hospital, Mt.Clemens, Michigan, USA 1985 – 1990 Staff, Hypertension, Obesity and Risk factor, department of Wayne State University at Detroit, Michigan. Conceived the idea of establishing a hospital comparable to an American Hospital in India.
Dr NGP worked on the Kovai Medical Center and Hospital project at Coimbatore from 1985 onwards. Then, joined along with NRIs from the USA, UK, Australia, Middle East and people from India, he established KMCH. It started functioning on June 24, 1990.
Since then, KMCH has been serving the community with dedication and commitment. It started with 200 beds and has emerged as an 894 bed multidisciplinary Super Specialty Hospital.
